THE PUPPY ACADEMY
Academy: KinderPuppy 101A - AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program (17 weeks to 8 months)
Pre-requisites: Puppies should be between 17 weeks to 8 months of age, with no prior training
Did you happen to miss that critical socialization window? If you missed it, thats okay! You can still teach your pup the basics. Learn the essentials in this fun and active class. With patience and repetition, your older puppy will become a happy, friendly, and confident canine.
We teach the importance of phasing out the need for food lures and rewards for reliable verbal and hand signal commands. The cornerstone of our classes focus on off-leash control (around the home or on walks), yet promoting the continued use of food treats for classical conditioning - to teach dogs to thoroughly enjoy the company of people and other dogs.
In this class you will learn the following:
- Manners & impulse control: Teach your pup to sit rather than jump
- Pay attention & to come when called
- Wait at the door or curb
- Walk nicely on leash
- Handling. Teach your pup to enjoy being touched for easy vet exams, grooming, etc.
- Confinement & crate training, & much more
You've never experienced this before!! Here at Adventure Hounds we have a goal of creating good-natured, well mannered adult dogs. Emphasis is placed on mastering off-leash verbal control for around the house and out and about. Our Puppy Academy Curriculum will take you through your 6-9 months and beyond!! Each class is $100 for 6 weeks.
Academy: KinderPuppy 101 - AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program (8 to 16 weeks)
In this class we focus on socialization with other dogs and people, calming and handling, attention, off-leash household manners/obedience and the prevention of behavior and temperament problems, and teaching bite inhibition.
Socialization is an enrichment process that exposes your puppy to varied elements in our environment. Our sociallization classes are taught completely off leash to allow your puppy to properly grow, explore and experience new sights, sounds and objects for a unique kinesthetic approach.
Our KinderPuppy Class includes exercises in:
- Potty Training
- Manners
- Human / Puppy Socialization
- Owner / Puppy Relationship
- Dog / Dog Socialization
- Confidence Building with Different Objects, Surfaces & Sounds.
In this class you will learn the following:

Requirements:
Puppy 1 - Puppies must be 8 weeks of age at the start date of class with current vaccinations appropriate for age.
